Who We Are: Point Quest Pediatric Therapies, LLC is certified through the California State Department of Education for related services to local schools as a certified Non-Public Agency (NPA). Point Quest focuses on providing meaningful and functional behavioral, mental health, and speech and language services to students ages 5 to 22 years of age.   


LMFT/LPCC (Depending on relevant experience.): $75-80k
AMFT/APCC (Depending on relevant experience.): $55-60k

PURPOSE OF POSITION: The purpose of the position is to primarily provide individual and/or group counseling to students with approximately ages 5 to 22 years of age typically identified by Emotional Disturbance or Autism or Other Health Impairments as a licensed provider registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. This position may also provide crisis counseling and parent counseling or consultation to students and families, as needed, on a general education campus with a mild/moderate special education environment. 


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Provide individual, group, and/or parent counseling services as required in each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
  • May also need to provide crisis counseling as needed to students in distress.
  • Document session attendance, progress notes, and communication with parents/guardians/other service providers via Point Quest Pediatric Therapies’ secure electronic health record system.
  • Clinical supervision will also be provided with some flexibility to attend.
  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCCs) & Licensed Marriage Family Therapists (LMFTs) must maintain annual renewal of registration with the Board of Behavior Sciences and complete all necessary CEUs.
  • May need to create Social/Emotional goals and assist with the creation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for student IEPs.
  • Attend student IEPs to provide updates on student progress and behavior.
  • Provide therapeutic and behavioral support to students in Special Education in the classroom.
  • Ability to complete required training(s) including Crisis Prevention Institute’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training provided by Point Quest’s certified trainers.
  • Work closely with school district teachers and staff to meet the needs of the students.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with co-workers, district employees, and other support staff at all times.
  • Maintain a safe environment for all individuals.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as needed.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to adapt to unpredictable environments and use sound judgment.
  • May be asked to assist with training development for other staff or therapists.
  • Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be an AMFT/LMFT/APCC/LPCC, registered and currently in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, and maintain this registration and standing throughout your employment.
  • Preferred experience working within a school setting or with children with autism and/or behavioral issues. 
  • Must be able to pass a DOJ/FBI background check. 
  • Must have a negative test result for Tuberculosis OR a Tuberculosis Clearance Letter provided by your doctor. 
  • Ideal candidates can start right away. 
  • Associates must attend board regulated weekly supervision sessions. 


WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes 
  • Requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying and lifting 50 or more lbs. 
  • Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction. 
  • The noise intensity level is moderate to high
