The expectation is that all of our students will graduate from 8th grade performing at or above grade level in all subject areas, particularly reading, writing, and math. As stated in the mission, we also expect all of our students to be prepared to compete and be successful in college and life. The role of a Sol Aureus paraeducator is multi-faceted. A Sol Aureus paraeducator is committed to the mission, is a team player, and serves in a variety roles, while maintaining an unwavering focus on exemplary classroom support and a commitment to work with students where they are at, both academically and developmentally. Responsibilities • Arrive at 8:30am to prepare for the day. (Daily Schedule 8:30am – 5:00pm). • Assists one or more teachers with one-on-one or small group tutoring and/or in the direct care, supervision, and support of the children in a classroom setting. • Maintains and prepares classroom materials, attendance records, health forms, and student files. • Provides instructional assistance that reinforces learning to individuals or small groups of students. • Monitors classroom activities when a teacher is absent from the classroom for a limited time. • Observes and monitors behavior of students within approved procedures. • Aids in dealing with the situation, as appropriate.
