Job Summary
Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs technical clerical work and lead duties in support of the employment, payroll, and credential processes for external educational agencies in Los Angeles County. The Senior Credentials Specialist is differentiated from the Credentials Specialist in that it independently performs complex administrative credential processing functions and determines work methods with minimal supervision, and may provide work direction to lower-level technical clerical employees. The Senior Credentials Specialist is also differentiated from the Lead Credentials Technician, in that it provides credential services and compliance review exclusively to external educational agencies; whereas, the Lead Credentials Technician is engaged in credential processes for LACOE employees as part of the transactional and operational, new employee processes.
Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Four years of clerical experience in processing certificated employee credentials involving public contact and the review, application, and interpretation of policies, procedures, and regulations, OR one year of experience in the LACOE job title of Credentials Specialist. Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Additional Requirements/Information: A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites is required.
