CHILD DEVELOPMENT APPRENTICE Under direction, assists the Preschool Teacher and/or Instructional Assistant in providing instruction and supervision to preschool children.

Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and interested in pursuing qualifications for a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or a higher certification; must possess the ability to read at 12th grade level and the ability to comprehend and follow oral and written directions; must be able to communicate in English. EDUCATION: Verification of a High School diploma, a GED certificate, or a higher degree. LICENSE REQUIREMENT: A current standard American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric CPR / First Aid certificate is required at the time of employment and must be kept current as a condition of employment OR if completed, attached to this online application. NOTE: With the approval of the Director of Child Development, Rialto Unified School District Child Development Apprentices will undertake a plan of professional growth activities which will culminate in the employee being qualified for a California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit (12 semester units) or a higher certification. This position is meant to be a training/exposure position and an entry into a career ladder program in early childhood education.
