St. Margaret’s Episcopal School is now accepting applications for an opening in the History Department of the Upper School Division (9th-12th grade) beginning fall, 2020. The position is open to candidates who can demonstrate mastery in any single historical field. We seek an educator who is a collaborative, an excellent communicator, and possesses a clear understanding of pedagogy and promising practices in the history classroom. As a technology-rich school, St. Margaret’s candidates must be comfortable with using technology. Most importantly, we seek candidates who understand the importance of relationships in the student learning experience. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in history (a master’s degree and a clear California Teacher Credential are preferred but not required). The qualified candidate will have 2+ years full-time classroom teaching experience. While independent school experience is a plus, we welcome candidates from all backgrounds and teaching experiences. We are seeking teachers who are collaborative educators and excellent communicators, with experiene and a clear understanding of Understanding by Design and Differentiated Instruction. As a technology-rich school, candidates must be comfortable with using technology in the classroom. Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's degree in History (a Master's Degree is preferred.) In addition, applicants will have 3+ years' full time classroom teaching experience. Independent school experience and coaching experience are a plus.
