Description: Presentation High School in San Jose, California is seeking a full-time instructor to join the Science Department in August 2014.  Candidates with a background in Chemistry and/or Physicsare encouraged to apply.  

Responsibilities

• Model for students the mission and values of Presentation High School
• Demonstrate subject matter competency and the ability to communicate that to high school students
• Devise a system of classroom order and discipline which contributes to the learning of all students
• Be available to students who need assistance
• Exercise professionalism at all times with students, parents, and colleagues
• Participate in professional development activities of the subject area

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Science with a Single-Subject Teaching Credential and/or Master’s Degree in Science
• Experience working with high school students preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively to promote student learning
• Knowledge in the latest pedagogy for effective classroom instruction and student learning
• Familiarity with the use of technology as a tool for classroom instruction
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
