The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County’s most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. In addition to providing direct instruction to students through its own alternative and special education programs, OCDE administers an array of programs and services that are critical to the operations of local school districts and community colleges, facilitating professional development, legal guidance, payroll, career and technical education support, high-speed internet access, Local Control and Accountability Plan assistance and approval, resources for families, and student enrichment. Job Summary
The Orange County Department of Education is recruiting for a talented Educational Services Program Supervisor, who will supervise, plan, coordinate, and supervise the work of administrative support staff for the assigned programs unit; serve as a liaison with other departments and divisions on administrative and technical matters; and organize and coordinate administrative operations and activities to ensure smoothly operating office. Additionally, this individual will coordinate the logistical organization of the statewide Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) Rollout professional learning events in collaboration with local and statewide partners. Some duties and responsibilities include: -Managing an administrative support team within a fast-paced, collaborative, office setting -Serving on and contributing to the Educational Leadership Team and the work of developing systems and procedures to realize OCDE's vision for college and career readiness and success -Supporting the organization of large events for the assigned team -Collaborating with County Offices of Education across California to offer statewide NGSS Rollout events -Working closely with CCSESA and the NGSS Collaborative to maintain thorough records of all NGSS Rollout events -Serving as the point-of-contact for the general public for all statewide NGSS Rollout questions
Requirements / Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience: Any combination of education, training, and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way of obtaining the knowledge and abilities would be: Education: Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in human services, communications, instruction, health, or related field. Experience: Effective communication and five years of increasingly responsible office administrative or secretarial experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
