Requirements / Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in natural sciences, education, recreation or other related degree required. (graduating seniors June-Dec 2019 also acceptable) 2. Must be currently enrolled or willing to enroll in Cuesta College's Cooperative Work Experience Education Program (enrollment occurs post-offer). 3. Commitment for the duration of the assignment. 4. California residents must hold a valid California driver's license. Non-residents must hold a valid United States drivers license. 5. First Aid and CPR certification (provided by SLOCOE) must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

In conjunction with the Cuesta College Cooperative Work Experience Education Program, the Naturalist Work Experience Interns at the Rancho El Chorro Outdoor School will support the delivery of the program by the Naturalists. Interns will gain skills in teaching in an outdoor setting, organization and leadership, student management, program and facility operations, and animal husbandry.
This is a live-on-campus position and requires high energy level, clean living habits and appearance, team building attitude, and a firm commitment. This announcement is to seek interns for the 2019-2020 school year (January-June 2020).
Interviews and hiring will occur on an ongoing basis during the summer/fall until all 4 interns are hired. Do not delay application until deadline.
There are no health benefits for this position; sick leave accrual per Healthy Workplaces/Health Families Act applies.
