FLSA status: Non-exempt

Reports to: Parent Engagement Coordinator

Pay Rate: Starting: $13.50 per hour

Job status: Part-time position

Ingenium Schools currently operates four charter schools serving students in Compton, Maywood, Canoga Park, and Winnetka.

 

 

 

POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY

 

Enrollment Recruiters function as a mouth-piece for Ingenium Schools, generating enrollment and facilitating the enrollment process. Enrollment Recruiters must form a deep knowledge of all Ingenium Schools so they can teach families about Ingenium and encourage them to enroll. Enrollment Recruiters distribute information about all Ingenium schools through flyers, in person, and by phone. Enrollment Recruiters must be outgoing, willing to speak with and approach the public to talk about Ingenium Schools, and have a unique ability to encourage new families to join Ingenium schools. Enrollment Recruiters must to travel to Ingenium School sites as needed (Compton, Canoga Park, Winnetka, Maywood), must have reliable transportation, and must be willing to work weekends as needed. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and support Ingenium Schools' mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and code of conduct
  • Understand charter schools; able to educate parents about what charter schools are and are not, dispelling charter school myths
  • Ability to speak and write fluent English and Spanish
  • Ability to assist with translations (English to Spanish)
  • Basic knowledge of computer programs (e.g., Google Docs, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to learn computer software for data entry
  • Process documents and materials; assist in the creation of student enrollment records, ensuring their accurate completion; distribute flyers; enter enrollment data, update student information and process student data
  • Fill out forms with student information; File papers, as needed
  • Responsible for the maintenance, storage, security and confidentiality of student enrollment files; responsible for inputting and maintaining student data into Student Information System (SIS); create statistical reports as needed
  • Attention to detail
  • Answer phones using a professional and courteous manner; route calls appropriately; kindly answer parent questions and assist with enrollment
  • Maintain a helpful attitude and give good customer service at all times
  • Ability to walk community streets to hand-out fliers/talk to families 
  • Knock on doors, giving families information 
  • Approach parents outside stores/restaurants etc. giving them information about Ingenium Schools and answering questions
  • Form relationships with local businesses and educate owners about Ingenium Schools
  • Visit local businesses and leave fliers
  • Actively find and participate in fairs and community events
  • Make presentations at preschools and places where families meet
  • Make calls and receive calls from all campuses and interested families
  • Participate in work-related training and conferences
  • Use appropriate language and respect others at all times
  • Timely deliver forms to supervisor 
  • Use time efficiently
  • Maintain reliable transportation (i.e., ability to travel from one school site to another, as needed)
  • Dress appropriately, wearing Ingenium uniform shirt and badge with the Ingenium logo at all times
  • Use equipment provided only by Ingenium
  • Other duties as assigned    

Collaboration:

  • Confer with school-site office support specialists and administrative managers to develop and implement strategies to improve enrollment

  • Accurately and timely communicate enrollment status to supervisor and school-site
  • Maintain and improve professional competence and participate in professional development opportunities

  • Actively participate in team meetings 

  • Assist with school/organizational events, as needed

 

The duties and responsibilities are subject to change if needed and are not limited to the duties above.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Ingenium Schools and charter schools

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Required Licenses and Certificates:

  • CPR/First Aid (provided by Ingenium post-hire, if needed)

  • Up-to-date TB test and background check required at time of hire

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Environment:

Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, etc.), and sometimes in an office environment. Employees are exposed to weather and temperature changes depending on the seasons. Exposure to moderate and loud noise, seasonal temperatures, dust and wind.

 

Physical Demands:

Enrollment/Recruiters are physically active and must be able to lift at least 40 pounds. In addition, this job requires at least 8 hours of continuous standing and/or walking outdoors in minimal shade, stooping, crouching, kneeling, squatting, and twisting. Campus Leaders must have adequate vision and the ability to communicate orally.

 

Work Schedule/Logistics:

The working hours vary according to the needs of the organization. Work days include weekdays and weekends as needed for recruitment and enrollment efforts. The employee must have a car or get his own transportation to carry out and complete requested assignments.

 

Employment At-Will:

All Ingenium employees are employed at will. This means either the employee or the employer can end the employment relationship at any time, for any reason, as long as it is not an illegal reason.
