Requirements / Qualifications

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The job of Program Development Specialist (PDS), Child Development, is designed for the purpose of planning, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, training, and implementing state and federal regulations to ensure compliance with the Alternative Payment Program (APP). This position requires attending conferences/in-services, maintaining and disseminating resource information to staff, families, and child care providers; and will be assigned other management-related functions as required. This is designated as a classified management position and is part of the Management Leadership Team. This is a categorically funded position, funded on a year-to-year basis. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years of experience in a child development program or other education, human development, or social service programs, preferably with children or supplemented by other experiences with parents and children is required, which would demonstrate exposure and utilization of required skills, knowledge and abilities in performing job-related duties and responsibilities. REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in social work, human relations, child development, psychology, or closely related field of emphasis area is required. Master’s degree is desirable.
