Type of Assignment: Classified/Staff

 

Compensation: Depending on experience, the starting salary for this position is $106,279 – $112,089 per year, which is range 40 on the 2019-2020 classified salary schedule which can be found at http://www.miracosta.edu/hr/downloads/2019-20Classified.pdf.

 

New full-time employees earn 12 vacation days per year, which increases after 3 years, 6 years, and 10 years. There are approximately 17 paid holidays per fiscal year. Career incentive program is available after completion of the one-year probation period.

 

Benefits:

 

A full benefits package which includes employer-paid medical, dental, and vision plans for employee and dependents; $100,000 employee life insurance; other optional coverages; and membership in the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS).

 

Position Details:

 

One regular, full-time, overtime-exempt position, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year on the Oceanside Campus. The normal work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. The person selected for this position will be subject to assignment to any district facility during any hours of operation.

 

Basic Function:

 

Under general direction of the Manager, Infrastructure Systems and Application Development, coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of information technology (IT) security standards, best practices, architecture and systems for the district to ensure the integrity and security of the district’s IT infrastructure and the protection, integrity and confidentiality of information assets spanning the entire enterprise; and perform related duties as assigned.

 

Education & Experience:

 

To be eligible for this position, you must meet and provide evidence of the following minimum qualifications:

 

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, systems engineering or a related field, and at least five years of progressively responsible experience involving applications and/or IT infrastructure systems, including two years of IT security-related experience involving risk identification and mitigation, security architecture development and compliance;

or

an equivalent combination of training and experience.

 

Experience in a public agency is preferred.

 

NOTE : For work experience, one “year” is defined as equivalent to 40 hours per week for 12 months, or at least 2,080 hours.
