Comments and Other Information
Klamath-Trinity Joint Unified School District is located in a rural region of Eastern Humboldt County along the beautiful Klamath and Trinity Rivers. Our Orleans Elementary site is situated about two hours south of the Oregon border, while our Willow Creek site (TVES) sits just off Highway 299 near the coastal mountain corridor. Because many applicants apply from outside the area, we encourage candidates to explore our school locations and the nearby coastal communities of Eureka, Arcata, McKinleyville, and Blue Lake to get a sense of the region. Fun fact: many of our teachers choose to live on the coast and enjoy a daily commute along the scenic Highway 299 through mountains and river valleys. Living locally is just as rewarding, with communities nestled in forested valleys and mountainsides, where summer days often include swimming, relaxing, or fishing in the crystal-clear Klamath and Trinity Rivers—though you do get used to traveling about 1.5 hours to reach the nearest Costco!
