Job Summary

Braille, Abilities, LLC, a new TVI/O&M owned company, is looking for O&M specialists or TVI/O&Ms in the Southern California Area. We'll be serving students across Los Angeles, Riverside, Orange, and San Diego Counties. Employees will be itinerant from their home offices in any of these locations and will serve students in the field daily.

Requirements / Qualifications

Credential Requirements:
  • California Credential as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired with preferred additional credential of Clinical Rehabilitative Services: Orientation and Mobility.
  • Will consider applicants with ability to transfer TVI/O&M credential from out of state.

All TVIs/O&M specialists are expected to: • Be self-starters • Work with students with a wide variety of needs, including sensory needs • Maximize student independence • Work as part of a team • Understand the IEP process • Maintain appropriate records and data • Have excellent interpersonal skills • Individualize instruction for the needs of each student TVIS are expected to: • Work with students with a wide variety of needs • Know UEB and Nemeth Code • Cover all areas of the Expanded Core Curriculum • Work as a partner with parents, staff, and coworkers • Complete Functional Vision and Learning Media Assessments O&M Specialists are expected to: • Teach students skills needed for safe and effective travel • Complete assessments • Focus on both short and long-term travel goals
