Program Director (Infant and Toddler program) Job Summary: The LLESA Children’s Center (Center) is subcontracted to provide an off-site Child Development Center for the employees of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), Sandia National Laboratory and other families who live or work in Livermore. Under direct supervision of the Center’s Executive Director, and in accordance with the goals and philosophy of the Center, the Program Director supervises approximately 20 staff and oversees curricula and programs of the infant/toddler classrooms. In cooperation with the Executive Director and Program Specialist, the Program Director creates and maintains partnerships with families; and works with community professionals on behalf of the children, families and teachers of the Center. Essential Functions: Staff and Classroom Supervision • Supervises Infant/Toddler teaching staff: o Prepares annual staff evaluations and provides ongoing feedback and follow up o Addresses staff questions, comments, requests and concerns o Counsels and intervenes when issues arise o Assists Executive Director with interviewing potential staff o Assists Executive Director with new employee orientations • Assists in preparing weekly schedules for teaching staff: o Produces weekly staff work schedule o Receives evening and morning calls for staff absences and revises the day’s schedule as necessary o Approves staff leave requests and manages leave calendars o Reviews and approves bi-weekly timesheets and submits for Executive Director’s review o Provides classroom coverage if necessary • Supervises Classrooms and Curricula: o Attends weekly Infant/Toddler classroom staff meetings o Assists Executive Director with planning and implementing all-staff meetings and in-service professional development o Oversees Regional Occupational Program students placed in program o Coordinates special needs resources with families, School of Imagination and Livermore Valley J

Requirements / Qualifications

• Valid Site Supervisor Child Development Permit issued by the State of CA Office of Teacher Credentialing • Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification including 16 hours of health training • California Department of Justice Fingerprint Clearance • General Health and TB Clearance
