ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include but are not limited to: Digital Content and Social Media • Lead, in partnership with the Director of Marketing and Communications, Fortune School’s social media strategy development and implementation that includes: o Creating compelling content that drives engagement and grows our network of followers for both the charter schools and higher education. o Track and report social media metrics and discover/tease out emerging trends and insights. o Identify a social media advertising plan, in-line with the social media budget, and implementation. • Develop, plan and implement organizing campaigns that recruit and mobilize parents/families, graduate students interested in becoming teachers, credentialed teachers and community members. o Work with Parent Liaisons, Teachers and Principals to run powerful digital campaigns that engage students/families and support targeted growth for K-12 student recruitment through graphics, rich text email, web pages and social media. o Work with the higher education team to run powerful digital campaigns that engage prospective teachers to support targeted growth for graduate student recruitment through graphics, rich text email, web pages and social media. o Design and curate social media content specific to campaign. o Write content, where applicable, for web-based text. o Analyze results and report on successes and challenges. • Develop digital content that fosters a best in class digital experience: o Serve as a thought partner to the Director of Marketing and Communications in creating compelling digital assets. o Support the creative vision of updates to Fortune School’s websites and rich text media. o Identify new ways in which Fortune School can amplify its organizational priorities through the latest digital mediums. • Lead Fortune School’s video production plan and schedule to produce videos (promotional, advocacy, vlogs and others as identified) and combine with targeted advertising, email marketing and website placement to enhance the number of views. Email, Digital and Community Engagement • Develop, execute and optimize end-to-end email strategies that engage and grow Fortune School’s contact database via: o Newsletter distributions: ? Charter School; and, ? Higher Education. o Inbound lead management best practices. o Nurturing/drip programs. • Know how to create and use landing pages as a means for managing user subscriptions, soliciting contact information and engaging with audiences. • Regularly report on performance, nimbly adjust where necessary, and strive towards achieving and implementing micro-targeted communications. • Engage, and frequently visit the charter school campuses in Sacramento and San Bernardino as well as the higher education campuses in Sacramento and Concord to generate content to share via email, digitally and via the school’s news and announcements homepage to the website. • Stay abreast of and recommend the most relevant best practices in email marketing, digital content and development and personalized features. • Manage the day-to-day organic content production and content planning for social media channels; develop social media content calendar. Website Content Maintenance • Become an expert at utilizing Parent Square, Edlio, Site Improve, and Google’s Digital Console by mastering all functions both in use and that can be incorporated in future work. o Serve as the publisher of website, pages, and parent square alerts. o Accountable for accurate content and language. • Lead the development of content and engagement strategies across the website. o Responsible for ongoing website development (including through support tickets), enhancements for all Fortune School websites. o Establish a working relationship with Edlio’s Web Developers. o Ensure Fortune School is ADA compliant for photos, videos and PDFs. o Incorporate search engine optimization (SEO) tactics into the content management support for the website. o Implement and maintain webpage graphics; maintain themes, styles and images for websites. • Work closely with the charter school Principals and higher education Deans in developing a “content pipeline” where each team’s work is reflected and accounted for in overall engagement strategy on the website, through email marketing and social media platforms. Qualifications: Required knowledge, skills and abilities: Knowledge of: • Graphic design experience or content creation with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and Adobe InDesign or other comparable programs. • Expert verbal and written communications skills. • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or ability to create simple graphics. • Experience developing digital content for a wide variety of platforms, including email, text, social media and advertisements. • Comfortable with photography and/or basic photo editing skills. • Experience working with graphic designers, videographers, web designer or other related digital fields. • Expert skills in day-to-day use of and advertising/targeting tools of most major social media platforms, including: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Google/YouTube. • Website priorities, product development, audience needs, site traffic and page views. • Design trends and techniques for website development. Ability to: • Manage multiple projects at once. • Write persuasively and succinctly for digital form. • Meet schedules, pay attention to detail and timeliness. • Learn education media and local media in Sacramento and San Bernardino markets and use judgement about what’s relevant to share and promote. • Evangelize the importance and role of digital/online strategies in meeting the organizational priorities and objectives in achieving an activated base. • Prepare and deliver oral presentations. • Balance working as a team member with independent work and minimal supervision. Education and Experience: • Bachelors’ degree preferred (New Media, Visual Communications, Design, Marketing, or Business) or equivalent education/training/experience. • 4-6 years of experience in: • Email marketing, content creation, targeted outreach. • Digital media production with experience in website maintenance. • Design experience with skills in graphic design and video programs such as, or comparable to, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro and Adobe InDesign. • Working on and leading cross-departmental relationships to accomplish digital content goals. Working Conditions: Environment Indoor and outdoor activities; frequent travel in personal vehicle. Physical Abilities • Hearing and speaking to conduct group training, exchange information in person, electronically, and over the telephone. • Ability to read printed material and computer screens. Ability to understand speech at normal levels. • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment. • Kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally to retrieve and store files and supplies. • Ability to climb stairs, bend, reach, walk, sit and stand for extended periods of time.
