The following materials must be submitted along with a District Application: 1) California Teaching Credential OR 30 Day Sub Permit 2) Current TB Test (current within the last 4 years) 3) Clearing House (fingerprinting) Must be done through Orange County Department of Ed located in Costa Mesa. 4) Three (3) Letters of Recommendation (current within 1 year) 5) Edjoin Application

1. The District requires either a valid California Teaching Credential or an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching permit (must have a Bachelor’s Degree and taken and passed the CBEST). If you need to apply for an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit, you may do so through the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) located at 200 Kalmus Drive in Costa Mesa; phone number (714) 966-4306. The first time application for an Emergency 30 Day Substitute Teaching Permit requires: a. Official transcripts – verifying your Bachelor’s Degree and any required course work. b. CBEST passing results c. Personal check or cash made payable to OCDE 2. Fingerprint Clearance is required for employment in any public or private school as part of your “first time” credential application. Your fingerprints must be taken in the county in which you are going to be employed. Live Scan Fingerprinting services are available at the Orange County Department of Education. An appointment is necessary for this service (714-966-4306). You may also apply for the Emergency 30 Day Substitute Teaching Permit at this time. 3. Your application and attachments will be reviewed. Selected applicants will be notified of an orientation.
