Candidates must have five (5) years of applicable teaching experience in accordance with Exhibit D per SJTA contract. The Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) position has a four (4) year term limit. Work days during the Summer. An ELD Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) primary responsibilities will be to work with staff at a specific number of sites. Job duties include but are not limited to: supporting staff in effectively implementing ELD Standards across all content areas by providing professional development to teachers in small groups, whole school staff, one on one coaching, and after school course offerings in order for teachers to bridge access for ELLs in accessing the Common Core Standards; modelling strategies in PD that teachers might use with their students, utilizing online or blended learning with teachers, engaging in classroom demonstration and/or co-teaching and providing opportunities for teachers to collaborate and reflect on their learning.
