ASSIGNMENT: School Year: 2025-26; Site to be Determined – 5.0 hrs. per day. Regularly assigned shift is: 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except Wednesday’s schedule which starts at 12:45 p.m. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the School Site Principal and the READY Program Administrator the READY Site Leader in addition to performing READY Tutor job duties as needed, also provides functional leadership of the afterschool program for students and staff at the assigned site. REQUIREMENTS: Equivalent to graduation from high school. Must meet the following requirements: Complete two years of higher education study, OR Hold or Obtain an Associate’s degree OR Pass a formal state or local academic assessment that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to assist in teaching, reading, writing, and mathematics or reading, writing and mathematics readiness (Paraprofessional Exam). Must also pass the High School Proficiency Test. CBEST meets both requirements. Must have completed or in progress to complete 12 units of Child Development college level course-work. Have at least one year of paid work experience in educational/instructional services to children in a formal setting and one year experience in coordinating or supervising a child care services program, children’s enrichment program, pre-school or other educational program OR a minimum of one year of successful HESD READY Program Tutor experience. Possess or be in the process of a valid First Aid and basic C.P.R. card. Bilingual skills highly desirable.

Obtain a passing score on the California High school Proficiency Exam and California Paraprofessional Exam. (In lieu of the CPE, provide documentation of successful completion of two years of higher education study (48 units) or Associates (AA) or higher educational degree.) Passing score on CBEST meets both requirements. Have at least one year of paid work experience in educational/instructional services to children in a formal setting and one year experience in coordinating or supervising a child care services program, children’s enrichment program, pre-school or other educational program OR a minimum of one year of successful HESD READY Program Tutor experience. Possess or be in the process of a valid First Aid and basic C.P.R. card. Bilingual skills highly desirable.
