Job Summary
The Paraprofessional for Correctional Facility works under the supervision of the Adult School Principal and the Coordinator of Inmate Services, Mendocino County Sheriff's Office, and the direction of a credentialed teacher, providing clerical support and performing instructional assistant duties with incarcerated Adults in academic and life skills programs for inmates at the Mendocino County Jail.

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent; a passing score on an exam that tests for the knowledge of, and the ability to assist in the teaching of, math, reading and writing OR 48+ semester college units. DESIRED: Some experience working with students; an A.A. degree or two years of college, or any combination of training and experience that would indicate possession of the skills and abilities listed in the job description.
