ABOUT CALIFORNIA VIRTUAL ACADEMIES AND THE SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST POSITION: The California Virtual Academies (a network of 9 public charter schools) delivers online/virtual home based instruction to TK-12 students in California. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily and log attendance. K12, inc. is our curriculum provider. As a speech & language pathologist you will be scheduling therapy sessions and assessments with the students’ parents. These sessions are generally conducted with students in person. Therapists meet students for treatment and assessment in a variety of settings, most commonly libraries. IEP meetings are usually conducted through virtual means. Virtual ways in which we support our students and families include: telephone, email, and blackboard sessions. On average speech therapists work from home 2 days a week and they work directly with students approximately 3 days per week. The caseload average is 40 students. HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION: Monday-Friday Full time: 8:30am-4:00pm As all of our schools are public schools and this is a public school position, these are set contracted hours and you must be working during these hours while under contract with the California Virtual Academies. You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours. Full Time: Bachelor's, Master's or higher- $84,931-$91,461 annual salary based on years of experience

As our enrollment continues to grow during the year, there is no way to forecast when a position will open up, which is why there are no set number of open positions listed, nor is such information given out.
