THE POSITION Under general direction, the Assistant Superintendent for Business Services will be responsible for administering, coordinating, and supervising the business and financial activities for Beverly Hills Unified School District. ABOUT THE DISTRICT The District annually serves approximately 3,900 students in two TK-5 elementary schools, one 6-8 middle school, one 9-12 high school, and a continuation high school. The District has a General Fund operating budget of more than $76 million. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Assistant Superintendent for Business Services provides districtwide leadership and direction in the following areas: - Provides management information, evaluation techniques, and long-range forecasts - Supervises a program of internal budget control - Interprets the business and financial areas of educational programs to the public - Supervises the development of monthly and annual financial reports as required - Supervises all cash disbursements for the District - Develops a long-range financial plan for the Board of Education - Administers the financial investment program for the District - Serves as a consultant and resource on any grant proposal for the District - Manages the District’s Record Retention Program - Develops and administers a program for purchasing supplies and equipment - Attends all Board meetings, and prepares such reports to the Board as are appropriate to the primary function and other reports, which may be requested by the Superintendent or the Board of Education - Prepares and submits to the Superintendent the annual appropriation and tax levy ordinances to submit to the Board - Directs the administration of all accounting records, the payment of all bills and other accounts payable (after approval has been duly authorized), the preparation of payrolls, the taking of inventories, and the preparation of all financial reports - Coordinates the administration of all insu
