          Requires an undergraduate degree in the field of study, a Masters degree is strongly preferred. Qualifications: Ability to provide a Catholic education and religious environment that upholds values, ethics and standards of behavior. The capacity to teach introductory and advanced Biological Science courses to a range of students and student interests. Experience in Astronomy instruction is preferred. Prefer 3-5 years of relevant classroom teaching experience in the subject matter. Independent and collaborative leadership is required as well as effective communication skills. Cardinal Newman teachers are confident and creative educational practitioners who have the ability to develop and deliver courses in the school’s curriculum. Candidates should have excellent writing and communication skills. History of collegiality and collaboration with other teachers and administrators. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse learning profiles. Innovative, creative, and flexible teaching style. Understanding the developmental needs of students and how they learn best. Requires demonstrated and direct experience using a wide range of instructional technology tools including iPads, Mac laptops, Google Apps and a compound light microscope. Familiarity with Vernier software and LabQuest hardware is preferred, but not required. Must be detail-oriented, organized and willing to take initiative.
