Job Summary
The Board of Trustees of the Vineland School District is seeking a superintendent with strong school district and community leadership skills who is committed to academic excellence for all students. The superintendent of the Vineland School District shall serve as the educational leader and chief administrator for the district. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with exceptional communications skills who, along with the Board, will collaboratively lead the District to an academically exceptional and fiscally stable future.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: - Appropriate Administrative credential. - Master’s degree in Administration/Education from an accredited college or university. Experience: - Minimum of five years successful teaching experience. - Minimum of three years school site and/or district-level administrative experience is required. - Successful experience in school finance and budget management. - Ability to articulate goals and objectives which will further the educational advancement and growth of our students. - Demonstrated leadership ability in developing and implementing educational programs. - Recent experience and/or training in legal aspects of education, including collective bargaining. - Successful experience working with a culturally and ethnically diverse community.

Vineland School District provides services to approximately 650 students in two schools: Vineland School, grades K-4, and Sunset School, grades 5-8. The Sunset Migrant Labor Camp opens mid- April of each year and brings in additional students through the end of October.
The two school sites participate in many federal and state categorical programs to enhance the educational programs. In addition, after school and summer school programs provide support for identified students. Parents, teachers, and administrators are involved in the assessment of program effectiveness and ongoing program development.
Vineland School District serves K-8 students in the community of Weedpatch and the surrounding rural agricultural areas. A large number of migratory workers are employed in the area during seasonal harvest time. This 33-square mile district is located between Lamont and Arvin, approximately 16 miles southeast of Bakersfield, California.
