The mission of Gabriella Charter Schools is to join academic rigor with the creativity of dance to engage the hearts and minds of young people in underserved communities, empowering them to excel both inside and outside the classroom. Gabriella Charter Schools is composed of two high-performing, dance-themed charter schools in the Los Angeles community. GCS 1 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Echo Park. GCS 2 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Historic South Central. GCS has garnered accolades, including the State’s Distinguished School Award and Exemplary Arts Program Award, the California Honor Roll, California Gold Ribbon Award, the Title 1 Achievement Award, California Pivotal Practice Award, the California Charter School of the Year award, and a ranking by USC as one of the best charter schools in California. GCS has also been recognized for its success in serving students with disabilities and under-resourced families. In 2020, Innovate Public Schools, in partnership with USC, ranked GCS1 as a top public middle school for low-income Latinx students in English and math and ranked GCS1 and GCS2 as top public elementary schools for low-income Latinx students in English and math.

The second school, Gabriella Charter 2, is located in historic South Central, and for the 19-20 school year, will serve Kinder through 4th grades. Gabriella Charter School 1 was the recipient of the 2018 California Distinguished Schools Award, the 2016 Gold Ribbon Award, the 2016 Title I Achievement Award, the 2016 Exemplary Arts Program Award - as well as the winner of the 2012 Charter School of the Year Award and ranked #2 among all California charter schools by USC's Performance Dashboard. Gabriella Charter School 2 will be in its third year of operation, and for the 19-20 school year, will add a 4th grade. We are seeking two dynamic elementary teachers who can help contribute to the success of our school in grades K-4 as we grow, and are currently only hiring for GCS2.
