Nestled in pines and cedars, Alta-Dutch Flat School District is located in rural Placer County thirty miles east of Auburn on I-80. The surrounding foothills offer an abundance of recreational activities and one of the most pleasant climates in the country. Composed of one beautiful school which serve students from transitional kindergarten to 8th grade, some of whom are inter-district transfers from neighboring districts. Classrooms surround a central courtyard, with access to a library, science lab, computer lab, gym/cafeteria, track, and large playground. Highly-qualified teachers lead the instruction within each classroom, and because of the unique dynamics of the small school environment, even the administration will serve as teaching staff and push in to the classroom in a variety of ways, from observation to small group instruction.

DESCRIPTION OF BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform responsible maintenance, repairs and custodial duties, and provide grounds keeping activities for the purpose of maintaining District buildings, grounds, and facilities in a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment. SUPERVISOR: Superintendent TYPICAL DUTIES: 1. If needed, carries out the duties of the Custodian. (See adopted description.) 2. Coordinate and monitor the duties of Custodian in a lead capacity to maximize efficiency and meet operational requirements. 3. Train and instruct subordinates in the performance of their duties. 4. Provide technical advice to Superintendent and Business Manager regarding buildings and grounds maintenance. 5. Determine work priorities and confer with Superintendent and other personnel regarding building and grounds maintenance, activities, and problems. 6. Ensure District compliance with Hazardous Materials documentation, handling, and disposal. 7. Serve as the District’s designated person to ensure CAL/OSHA-EPA Asbestos Management Plan and Surveillance is followed. 8. Ensure compliance with lead testing and abatement. 9. Work with utility companies and others to develop energy conservation programs. 10. Complete requisitions and purchase requests for custodial and classroom supplies; receive, verify, and distribute supplies and equipment. 11. Does maintenance to concrete and asphalt areas, playground equipment, fencing, windows, doors, and locksmithing equipment. 12. Set up and maintain soccer fields, baseball diamonds, basketball courts, and other related athletic areas. 13. Safely calculate, mix, and apply a variety of chemical and toxic agents related to the fields of maintenance and grounds keeping. 14. Perform basic maintenance work on buildings and instructional equipment, including noncomplex electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical repairs. 15. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalent; Minimum three (3) years previous experience preferred; Valid California driver’s license and evidence of insurability; TB test clearance; Drug test clearance; Criminal Justice fingerprint processing.; District required medical exam.
