Inspire and be inspired! Immerse yourself in a world of creativity and music as you foster a love of writing among middle school campers. Adventures in Writing Camp is a two-week day camp that channels the power of childhood imagination into writing success! The camp’s curriculum and lessons guide students through the process of writing and creating their own blogs. See the magic of Adventures in Writing Camp for yourself at: http://www.aiwcamp.com/camp-video/ Blogging Rangers (Teachers): Adventures in Writing Camp is seeking creative and experienced teachers to inspire campers through writing instruction. The ideal candidate loves teaching writing, and is drawn to blogging and social media! You will lead a class of middle school students through the process of planning, writing, and creating blogs! A combined class of 6th - 8th graders, campers will develop writing skills through focused mini-lessons which are then applied to a series of assigned and free-write blog posts. Each group of students (called troops) has a local college student, or “Adventure Guide,” available as support during lessons and throughout the day. We anticipate a ratio of no more than 1 teacher to 25 students, and one staff member to every 7 campers. This is a 2-week commitment for the summer with the option of working more weeks if desired. Rangers will be on site from 8:15am – 3:15pm with breaks for prep and lunch. Going forward, teacher “alumni” will have an inside track on leadership positions as the camp expands to other locations in the area during the summer. Compensation: Rangers are considered employees, and pay is competitive with other top educational day camps. For the sake of the kids’ experience, it is expected that applicants plan to be available all ten days of camp. About AIW Founders:
