Requirements / Qualifications
DEFINITION Under direction from the Maintenance Supervisor to perform skilled work in installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment and system; to perform semi-skilled and skilled duties in other maintenance trade areas; and to do other related work as required. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and skills would be: Experience: Fours years of experience as a journey level air conditioning and heating maintenance technician in the commercial or industrial field.
Education: Verification of a High School diploma, a GED certificate, or a higher degree, supplemented by training or course work in the maintenance and repair of modern refrigeration, ventilation, heating, and commercial air conditioning equipment. License Requirement: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License Condition of Employment: Insurability by the District's liability insurance carrier. Possession of E.P.A. Universal Technician Certificate

These organizations are private enterprises who charge a fee for their services.
