Head Football Coach, Adjunt Faculty
Location: Yuba College - Marysville, CA.

BASIC FUNCTION:
We invite your application for this part-time position coaching the Yuba College intercollegiate football team. This position includes physical education teaching assignments, depending on the coach's academic credentials, not to exceed 67% of a full-time load. Coaching and teaching responsibilities under the supervision of the Director of Kinesiology, Health, Athletics, and in coordination with athletic trainers and the equipment room and facility staff. The football head coach plans, organizes, and administers all tasks associated with the intercollegiate program, including recruitment and selection of student-athletes; student-athlete academic and personal advising; coordination of student-athlete transfer to four-year institutions; practice and scrimmage scheduling; pre-season and in- season student-athlete conditioning; compliance of all CCCAA, Northern California Football Conference recruitment, eligibility and participation rules; making travel arrangements; budget management; procurement of equipment and supplies; public and media relations; fundraising; scheduling officials; and conference responsibilities. This position includes credit instruction in Kinesiology/physical education/athletics, both theory (lecture) and activity classes. These assignments may include a combination of day, evening and weekend classes.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum qualifications for Coaching assignment: Any bachelor’s degree and two years of coaching experience, or any associate degree and six years of coaching experience.
Minimum qualifications of education and experience for the teaching assignments: An earned Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in physical education exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise, or adaptive physical education; OR an earned Bachelor’s degree in any of the preceding AND an earned Master’s degree in a life science, dance, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy; OR the equivalent. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Note: Applicants who have not yet earned a degree as listed above at the time of the application deadline, but who expect to receive any of the above-listed degrees by May 1, 2017, must submit a letter from the graduate school dean certifying their anticipated completion date.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
Desired Professional Qualifications: Knowledge of teaching and learning theories, principles and strategies as applied to a wide range of physical education courses; student learning outcomes specific to health or physical education courses; NCAA playing rules; NCAA & NAIA transfer guidelines; and comprehensive community college philosophy; Demonstrated ability to: instruct all levels of physical education courses; motivate and teach in ways appropriate to the diverse backgrounds, cultures, and learning styles of the community college student; facilitate application of theory to practice; coach/instruct athletes in the fundamentals of the game and development of advanced athletic skills; analyze skill development and respond with individualized instruction; develop and implement conditioning programs to prepare for intercollegiate competition; develop a recruiting plan and recruit effectively; provide leadership, energy, enthusiasm and commitment to excellence in athletics; supervise assistant coaches; communicate effectively and work cooperatively with instructors, coaches, administrators and support staff in a team-oriented environment; interpret and apply rules and regulations; develop promotional events and raise funds. Other Qualifications Valid California driver’s license.

Range/Step: Step 1 - Step 7 (Based on degree and teaching experience)
Salary Range: $47.07 – $78.42/Lecture Rate Per Hour
Benefits Information:
This is a part-time, instructor position. Appropriate placement on the current part-time faculty salary schedule commensurate with previous college experience ($33.04 – $58.84 per hour), plus annual coaching stipend ($6,770) for 2017-2018. Part-time, hourly coaches receive the coaching stipend during the semester that corresponds with the season of the sport. Part-time coaches may also receive summer session teaching assignments based on course availability and qualifications. Anticipated annual salary with minimum qualifications to teach classes in summer, fall, and spring: $23,009 – $26,149
