Job Summary
The Oak Hill School in San Anselmo, California seeks an experienced, motivated, and highly qualified individual to join its teaching staff. Oak Hill is a small, non-public school, serving students with autism and other developmental differences. Teachers lead and collaborate with a team of therapists, teaching assistants, parents and outside professionals to design and implement a comprehensive educational program for a group a 6-8 students. We are looking for a teacher who has experience with classroom and individual positive behavior management as well as an interest in community-based learning and instruction. The Classroom Teacher is expected to be a leader in our community, of both the team he or she is in charge of and within the wider school, sharing expertise and modeling best practice. Requirements / Qualifications
Must-haves:
- Current moderate-severe California teaching credential with autism certification.
- Familiarity with special education procedures, including the development implementation, and assessment of IEPs and Behavior Support Plans.
- Ability to work in regular collaboration with a team of professionals, to give and receive feedback.
- Passion for teaching.
- Calm, even temperament.
Preferred:
- Masters degree in special education or related field.
- Three years teaching experience.
- Experience with ABA, DIR, RDI or related models of autism interviention.
- Experience with visual schedules, PECs, ProLoquo, or related augmentative communication systems.
- Experience with data collection and data based decision making for student programming.

Comments and Other Information
Oak Hill School is back to on campus learning in a safe and small environment. We test staff two times a week at no charge to staff for Covid 19. Many of our students are tested as well and we are working towards another test for students that involves a saliva test through a partnership with UC Berkeley.
