About the Employer

We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. Antioch Unified School District is centrally located in the East Bay and provides ready access to scenic mountains, waterfronts, wine country, historical sites and the Pacific Ocean. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Any combination equivalent to: bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Science, clinical nutrition or related field and three years’ experience in nutrition. Registered Dietitian preferred but not required. LICENSE & OTHER: Valid California driver’s license, Valid Serv-Safe certificate. BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Director-Nutrition and Purchasing Services, monitor compliancy and implementation of the local School Wellness Policy and Competitive Food Sales; ensure USDA compliance with nutrition provisions for Administrative Review; food product analysis; recipe and menu development, planning and data entry; analysis of various assigned programs; train and monitor various nutrition programs and personnel on USDA school meals regulations; promote student nutrition and meals programs; review and process meal applications; count funds received from school sites for bank deposit; and provide office support to the Director. KNOWLEDGE OF: Current information and resources related to nutrition; Free and reduced program requirement and regulations; Methods of adjusting and extending recipes and proper substitution; Quality and portion control techniques; Health and safety regulations; Operation of a computer and assigned software; Correct English usage, grammar and spelling; Record-keeping and report preparation techniques; Math and cashiering; Processing of applications; Modern office practices, procedures and equipment; Interpersonal skills including tact, patience and courtesy; Various related programs including National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, After School Program snacks, Child and Adult Care Food Program supper requirements and regulations.
