Requirements / Qualifications
Requirements: -Must be available Monday-Friday for practice and games -Practice is generally 1:30pm – 5:00pm -Games are generally scheduled on weekdays between the hours of 3:00pm and 7:00pm -Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, car registration, and auto insurance. - Must pass TB test and criminal background checks - CPR/1st Aid certified or ability to secure certification within 21 days of hire How to Apply: Interested and QUALIFIED candidates should email the following: 1. Stipend: $1,500/Season
Hours: 15/per week (Hours vary between 1pm & 7pm based upon schedule)
Days: Monday-Friday (Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required)
Position Description: Head Coach is responsible for providing sport-specific athletic training while enforcing the values and principals of PAL’s Student SCHOLAR Athletics program. Through the development of scholar athletes, Head Coaches will build winning programs with young people prepared to win not only the game they’ve chosen to play but every area of life. They are responsible for adhering to the program development which supports the successful transition of 100% of our athletes to post-secondary education opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to serve a diverse student, staff and parent clientele
- Dependability and punctuality a must
- Must carry self in a professional and ethical manner
- Must be energetic, self-starter, and be able to work independently in an effective manner
- Leadership experience is desired
- Winning attitude and ability to mentor as a trainer through leading by example
Experience:
- Must have experience, confidence and success in working with students in urban areas and those of varying socioeconomic status
- Experience working in a school, community or faith-based setting is desired.
- A background as a student-athlete or sports advocate is preferred but not required
- Experience or training in injury prevention and post injury care for stud ent athletes
- Experience or training in sports-specific strategy
Education:
- Preferred but not required: Successful coursework completion in the area of Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy, Kinesiology, Education, or Sociology Certificate, AA, or BS Degree in a related field
