About the Employer
We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. Antioch Unified School District is centrally located in the East Bay and provides ready access to scenic mountains, waterfronts, wine country, historical sites and the Pacific Ocean. This recruitment is for substitute / on-call employment in the classification of Instructional Assistant, Instructional Assistant Special Education, and Instructional Assistant Special Needs. These paraprofessional positions are for those not seeking permanent/regular work. It is for those that are interested in working on-call and as-needed to service student’s needs during employee absences or position vacancies. This recruitment is NOT for the use of an eligibility list to employ permanent employees. INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT (Salary Range 118) Hourly Rate: Step A $16.60 INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT – SPECIAL NEEDS (Salary Range 121) Hourly Rate: Step A $17.87 INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT – SPECIAL EDUCATION (Salary Range 122) Hourly Rate: Step A $18.32 Hours/Months: Hours Vary Daily: 3 to 6 per day, 10 Months - School Attendance Days Only Number of Substitutes Needed: 20 COMPLETED APPLICATION DEADLINE: Until Filled.
