Requirements / Qualifications

    DirectEd Behavior Intervention Specialists (BII's) assist individual students who exhibit severe behavioral challenges in and outside of the classroom setting under the supervision of a Behavior Intervention Developer (BID) and assist classroom teacher in the implementation of specific goals and objectives for assigned student(s). Additionally, assists in implementation of behavior plans and track data daily to provide necessary information for the purposes of developing annual IEP goals and objectives for assigned student(s).

    Per Diem

    This is a flexible, per diem position working in our Los Angeles area schools. We currently have day-to-day assignments within 20 miles of the following cities:

    • Culver City
    • Monterey Park
    • Compton


    Long-Term

    DirectEd also has the following long-term positions available. These positions will be working at one school site M-F during the school year, but are subject to change based on availability.

    • East/South LA: El Monte, Huntington Park, Whittier, Pasadena, etc.
    • West LA: Culver City, Hollywood, Santa Monica, Koreatown, etc.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Completion of two years of study (60 units at an accredited institution of higher education) OR Attainment of an AA degree or higher.
    • One (1) year of experience providing support services to children with behavioral and/or emotional needs.
    • Knowledge and experience in ABA treatment methodologies (i.e. Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Non Crisis Intervention or Pivotal Response Training).
    • Current Non-violent Crisis Intervention certification (CPI or QBS).
    • Must have a strong desire to work with children with special needs.
    • Must enjoy interacting with and teaching children.
    • Prior experience in providing behavioral services to children diagnosed as ED/AUT, is a plus.
    • Candidates who do not meet the minimum requirements listed above will not be considered.
