Community Outreach Internship (For Current MUSD High School Students) at Manteca Unified School District
About the Employer

Our diverse community spans the cities of Stockton, Lathrop, Manteca, and the township of French Camp. - If offered a position, student must obtain both a District Work Permit and provide a negative TB (Tuberculosis) clearance
Attach the following documentation to your application: 1. Writing sample (class essay or something personal you have written) 2. Resume 3. One (1) Letter of Recommendation, with signature from a teacher, club advisor, counselor, coach, or administrator. Application will be considered incomplete if the required documentation is not attached prior to the position closing. All applications must be submitted online on or before 4:00 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2018. Please do not email the attachments to the office. They must be attached to the online application.

• Want to be more involved by becoming your school’s journalist for the district.
• Want to be published in the district-wide Mark Highlights publication. (see past issues at http://www.mantecausd.net/highlights)
• Want to earn some money for 3 hours a week, and build your resume.
• Want to improve your writing and start preparing for a future communications career.
What would I have to do?
• Monthly connect with ASB, and your school’s principal, to know what is going on.
• Connect with the elementary school principals that feed into your high school—can you write a story this week about one of them?
• Interview people and take pictures at an event. (Smart phones are great cameras!)
• Write and submit story content weekly.
• Attend 1-hour monthly training meetings at the district office after school.
• Help with other district events, like the District Celebrations.
Is this a paid opportunity?
Yes! Student workers may earn up to 3 hours per week of pay for interviewing, photographing, and writing a story.
You must complete and submit weekly story content to earn that week’s pay.
