REQUIRED TRAINING One year (or more) experience with the at-risk youth population either through work, volunteer, or personal experience. REQUIRED CREDENTIAL/PERMIT Applicants must hold a current/valid Elementary, Secondary, or Education Specialist Teaching credential or a 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit.

      OPPORTUNITIES: Opportunities exist for substitute teaching throughout Santa Clara County. The Alternative Education Department (AED) provides educational programs for students who are under court supervision or who are not attending regular school for a variety of reasons. School sites include Juvenile Hall, a ranch program, and numerous community schools throughout the county.
