Savant Preparatory Academy of Business (SPAB) is a charter school authorized through the San Bernardino City Unified School District. SPAB is designed to provide an enriched and innovative educational experience that is rooted in financial literacy and entrepreneurship. We aim to balance both experiential and academic learning in order to prepare children for the demands of the 21st century, equip students with skills necessary to compete globally, and ensure that scholars are both career, college, and business ready. Job Description:
The most important characteristic of teachers at Savant Preparatory Academy of Business will be their care for students, enthusiasm, willingness to work hard and responsibility for student learning. The ideal Teacher wholeheartedly believes in and is passionate about the mission and commitments of Savant Preparatory Academy of Business and exhibits this through their development, reflection, execution of school culture, implementation of student rigor and proven results of student success.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Fosters a safe and nurturing learning environment

Continuously builds professional knowledge

Organizes classroom systems/procedures and manages student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged in learning

Develops and maintains lesson plans and individual learning plans according to RJA templates

Establishes an environment where students are excited about learning and preparing for next levels

Prepares lesson plans, current seating charts, and classroom procedures for substitute teachers

Builds strong, positive relationships with students and parents

Communicates with parents/caregivers on a weekly basis
-
Identifies student's areas for improvement and is able to work with the student and family and internal resources to create opportunities for improvement

Provides continual assessment of student progress, maintains student records and portfolios, and completes assigned paperwork in provided timeframes

Conducts parent conferences

Collaborates with the Special Education team to meet the needs of all students

Consistently implements required and appropriate adaptations and modifications for English Learners, Special Education students, and 504 students

Attends and participates in Student Success Team, Parent/Teacher Advisory Council, and other school-based meetings and activities

Performs disseminated leadership duties

Attends, actively participates, and implements professional development training throughout and beyond the school year

Demonstrates support and knowledge of school's goals and mission

Is accurate and detail oriented when tracking students' grades, attendance, etcetera

Works with the Principal to insure teaching methods are directed towards meeting and surpassing the standards

Attends and participates in school-based meetings and activities

Works collaboratively with other staff

Displays a positive public presentation of Savant Preparatory Academy of Business
Experience, Education and Skills Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
-
Master’s degree in subject matter field or Education is strongly preferred
-
Must possess a current California teaching credential
-
Solid knowledge of subject matter, including California Common Core State Standards and subject-specific frameworks and assessments
-
Must hold a CLAD certification or an equivalent recognized by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing

Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative student data
-
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)

Must be computer literate (MS Office)

Bachelor’s Degree required California Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential required A certificate showing that within the last 60 days the person has submitted to a tuberculosis risk assessment and if tuberculosis risk factors were identified, has been examined by a physician, nurse practitioner, or local health department and has been found to be free of infectious tuberculosis Candidates selected for employment are required to be fingerprinted and cleared by the CA Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigations through Savant Preparatory Academy of Business •Applications must be complete and submitted with two (2) letters of reference/recommendation, current resume and college transcripts via edjoin.org. •All documents must be submitted via edjoin.
