POSITION DESCRIPTION: The job of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is done for the purpose of assisting the Occupational Therapist in providing therapy services to special education students, ages 3 to 22 years, in classrooms at various school site locations, based on the students’ Individualized Education Program (IEP). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: One year of experience implementing occupational therapy intervention plans. Experience working with children with disabilities and autism is preferred. REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent and an Associate’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college/university.
