Requirements / Qualifications

SDCOE is recruiting to add to the substitute pool of Interpreter I - Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)/ASL for Davila Day School in Chula Vista, CA. As part of the South County SELPA, Davila serves deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) students, from preschool through sixth grade. Experience with ASL/Sign Language is required. Substitute Interpreter I's will need to demonstrate ESSA compliance through one of the following methods: 1) Transcripts showing an AA degree or higher; 2) Transcripts showing completion of at least 48 semester units; 3) Passing scores on the SDCOE qualifying exam. Please attach a valid certification issued by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf or achieved a score of 4.0 or above on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment, the Educational Sign Skills Evaluation-Interpreter, or the National Association of the Deaf/American Consortium of Certified Interpreters Assessment.
