About the Employer Rex and Margaret Fortune School of Education is a comprehensive education system including, non-profit preschools, a network of tuition-free, public charter schools (TK-12th), and a school of education with a masters programs and educator preparations programs accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. in Sacramento/San Bernardino County. We prepare students for college starting in preschool Transitional Kindergarten in San Bernardino and Sacramento Counties and are focused on closing the African American achievement gap. Bachelor’s Degree and Valid California Single Subject Music Credential
OR

OR
3years of music background work experience and a CTE Credential
Experience/background:
Experience [teaching] with Show Style Marching Band
Concert/Jazz Band and Jazz Music Theory
Ability to instruct and lead Jazz Band
Able to accompany students on piano
Provide vocal and instrumental instruction to students K-8
Understanding of Music Theory and Jazz Theory
Experience and ability to teach Saxophone, Trombone, Trumpet, Piano/keyboard, Drums and other instruments or sections as needed
Provide developmentally appropriate instruction in music to students K-8
Instruct scholars in:
Music appropriate to developmental level
Vocal and rhythm instruction and training
Introduction to music instrumentation
Music Theory/ Beginning Jazz Theory
Beginning Instrumental Instruction
Beginning/Intermediate Jazz Band
Other expectations:
Provide exposure to a variety of music genres including Jazz and Blues
Duties as they arise for the musical development of scholars and the music program
