St. Mel School is looking for enthusiastic, creative and motivated preschool teachers for a new preschool with an anticipated opening in September, 2018. The positions will be approximately 20 - 40 hours weekly, Monday-Friday, depending on the needs of the program and the skill-sets of the candidates. Our preschool program will serve three-year olds and young four-year olds with independent bathroom skills. Our co-teachers will supervise, teach, and care for all students in the classroom, including plan and implement lessons each week, based on letters, numbers, concepts, themes and Bible stories. Additionally, our preschool teachers will partner with parents and provide daily feedback. The candidates will be able to implement the program under the guidance of our Director.
St. Mel School is located in Fair Oaks and services St. Mel Parish and the surrounding communities by providing a rigorous, standards-based curriculum for grades TK – 8th grounded in Catholic tradition. A St. Mel education empowers students to become active, responsible Catholic adults whose lives reflect the Gospel values through “Integrating Faith through Academic Excellence”. Our mission is based on the School-wide Learning Expectations (SLE’s) which nurtures the whole child spiritually, socially, intellectually, emotionally and physically. Candidates must have a minimum of 12 ECE units. Previous work in a preschool setting is desired. The candidates we seek must be team players, organized, flexible, patient and have great communication skills. Additionally, all candidates must possess the required Pediatric CPR/First Aid card, Safe Haven training, pass all background and fingerprint clearances, and proof of negative TB, updated immunizations and health clearance prior to employment as required by the Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing Division.
