• Potential position openings are 40 hours per week, 211 days per school year with time off when school is not in session. It is an exempt, management position. • The recruitment will be run as Open; it is open to all qualified applicants. This will result in the creation of one list for all successful candidates. • Only online applications will be accepted: https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/downey BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Director, Special Education, or their designee, the Occupational Therapist (OT) provides educationally related occupational therapy services to students with various disabilities according to the students’ Individualized Education Program (IEP). The OT provides assessment, consultation and direct occupational therapy to students within educational, developmental and functional parameters; develops and implements individual and/or group occupational therapy intervention plans.

Requirements / Qualifications

Any combination equivalent to: • Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy. • One year of supervised experience in occupational therapy working with children (0-11 years old) with severe disabilities. • Working knowledge of sensory integration and motor evaluation and training preferred. • Masters or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy is highly desirable. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: • Valid and current license issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy. • Valid and current registration by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. • Valid first aid and CPR certification, as well as meeting requirements to keep certificates current. • Possession of a valid State of California class C driver's license. • Must be, and remain, insurable under the District's vehicle driver's insurance policy at the standard rate. You must attach a copy of the required documents or your application will be disqualified.
