Technology Specialist

 

Scope of Responsibility

 

The Technology Specialist provides:

  • Leadership, staff development and instructional support to all instructional and administrative staff. 
  • Serves as a liaison between school and district technology initiatives and school based implementation and support for administrator and teachers.
  • Develops and offers district wide instructional technology education for teachers and administrative staff.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum and instructional staff with the essential support need to complete technology-based instruction management and productivity functions including the implementation of the California Common Core State Standards.
  • Collaborates with appropriate instructional and technical staff to support, manage optimize the use of instructional software, and network resources to support quality teaching and learning
  • Work independently and collaboratively with colleagues.

Keys Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with teachers in composing effective technology-infused, content-based lessons, and supports teachers as they implement lessons in their classrooms.
  • Promotes model effective instruction practices and the use of technology in the classroom.
  • Provides assistance and training to staff in the integration of technology in order to support increased student achievement. This includes planning and implementing job embedded professional development and workshops for individuals, and both small and large groups.
  • Collaborate in the evaluation selection and implementation of instructional technology materials and software.
  • Assist with technology training as part of professional development.
  • Work with curriculum teams to develop and implement technology enhanced curriculum.
  • Provides leadership in developing and implementing the district technology plan.
  • Collaborates with site administrators and library staff to insure infrastructure tools are available to carry out school and district technology initiatives.
  • Conducts research in regards to advancement of technology tools and resources in order to make informed decisions.
  • Gather and disseminates information (e.g. grants, policies, professional development opportunities) relevant to improve instruction for students.
  • Participates in ongoing professional development related to job responsibilities and maintaining expertise in the field.
  • Conducts staff development and supports community awareness initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
