Environmental Education Coordinator at LA Conservation Corps
Requirements / Qualifications
Reporting to the Director of Conservation Programs at the Northeast Los Angeles (NELA) site, the Environmental Education Coordinator provides development, oversight, guidance, and implementation for all climate-change related environmental education programs running out of NELA. The Environmental Education Coordinator will ensure the delivery of a comprehensive environmental education program to enhance the development of youth and communities served by the Corps.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: -Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and strong work ethic. -Demonstrate sensitivity, understanding and the ability to effectively interact with individuals (internal and external) from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, disability and ethnic backgrounds. -Demonstrate excellent communication skills (oral and written) characterized by actively listening and ensuring respectful two-communication interactions and documents that demonstrate a good command of the English language in conjunction with appropriate spelling and grammatical guidelines. -Demonstrate a high level of accountability, responsibility and dependability. -Demonstrate positive attitude, self-discipline and self-awareness. -Demonstrate teamwork through cooperation and collaboration with others. -Demonstrate excellent leadership skills characterized by the ability to gain respect, positively influence, accurately assess and support the agency in the achievement of its mission with and through others (internal and external). -Use good judgment; evaluate alternatives in the achievement of quality outcomes. -Ability to structure tasks, establish priorities and set goals. -Demonstrate a competent level of knowledge in the areas of wilderness preservation issues and policies. -Passion for the Corps and ability to articulate its mission.
