About USC Brio College Prep

USC Brio College Prep is a new charter high school powered by Ednovate in partnership with the University of Southern California. Our mission is to empower our students to use their college degrees and careers to make a positive multigenerational change. We provide students and families a safe and nurturing school culture that has high expectations and that delivers a rigorous and personalized college prep experience. We care about instilling a deep sense of purpose in our students and developing valuable relationships in our school community. In this 2017-18 school year, we have over 110 freshmen, and we will expand one grade level per year until we serve students in grades 9-12 in 2020. 

Position Description

The Culture Team Member (CTM) will monitor student behavior and hold students accountable according to our Student Code of Conduct. CTMs issue merits and demerits according to behaviors we encourage and misbehaviors we discourage. CTMs take on various responsibilities necessary for smooth operations including monitoring detention, lunch, dismissal, after school hours, bathroom/PE transitions, hallway transitions, and special events. Student Code of Conduct (in which the CTM would issue demerits). The CTM will need to take initiative around forming positive relationships with students, mentoring them toward responsible adulthood.  

The responsibilities listed here are not exhaustive. In a secondary role, when the CTM is not actively engaging in culture-related responsibilities, the CTM may help with office coverage, clerical tasks, and special projects. This position will require strong adaptability and flexibility around the various tasks asked of them. The CTM must embody our core mindsets, engaging in lively debates and difficult accountability conversations to build teamwork on our staff.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate:

  • Speaks, writes, and reads in English and Spanish and can provide translation services
  • Is passionate about increasing the college attainment rate in educationally underserved populations and working with families of diverse backgrounds
  • Is committed to our mission, discipline model, and vision
  • Has strong proficiency with Google Apps (Sheets, Word Docs, Slides)
  • Enjoys a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is eager to build new systems or adapt existing ones
  • Collaborates well and engages in healthy, collegial conflict
  • Connects well to students and values communication and partnership with families
  • Can maintain a disciplined classroom
  • Is committed to our Demerit/Merit Behavioral Management System
  • Is a graduate of a four-year university

Work Schedule

We are looking to hire someone to begin full-time work for the 2018-19 school year, starting on July 20, 2018. A likely schedule would be 7:30am-4:30pm Mon-Fri.

Wages & Benefits

The hourly wage is competitive and commensurates with experience. A competitive benefit package is included for the full-time position.
