School Health Programs Department Job Description SITE NUTRITION COORDINATOR (SNC) The role of the Site Nutrition Coordinator is to coordinate site activities for the Nutrition Education Project (NEP) at two San Francisco Unified School District elementary schools. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ? Knowledge of basic nutrition education ? Experience working with school age children ? Experience providing training, coaching and role modeling to teachers ? Experience planning and delivering professional development workshops and classes ? Experience working with community based organizations and parent groups ? Technologically literate – word processing and database skills ? Leadership skills – ability to provide support and guidance to site staff ? Ability to collaborate with school site administrators and other program staff ? Organization and coordination skills ? Flexibility, ability to take initiative and work independently Essential Duties and Responsibilities ? Collaborate and coordinate with Classroom Teachers, Nurse, Principal, & other school community partners and staff ? Facilitate a site Nutrition & Wellness Team for site assessment & program planning ? Work with NEP team to provide professional development on nutrition education to school staff and partners ? Teach nutrition classroom lessons & provide training for teachers and staff in nutrition curricula with cooking demonstrations ? Coordinate site activities, including field trips, family health events, garden education… ? Inventory & maintain site materials and equipment ? Complete documentation of all activities in a timely manner ? Participate in SHPD staff, job alike, and other required meetings ?
