La Cañada High School has a vacancy for a part-time Korean teacher. The assignment is expected to carry four classes (0.8 FTE), ranging from Korean 1 to Honors Korean 4. Application Deadline: Open until filled Qualifications: 1. Credential: Valid California single subject teaching credential in Korean, including a certification to teach English Language Learner students. 2. Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher. Work Year: This is a part-time position (0.8 FTE); August through early June (10 months); 186 contracted work days. First day of paid service is Tuesday, August 14, 2018. A new teacher orientation day has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 8, 2018. The first day with students will be Thursday, August 16, 2018, and the last day of the work year is Thursday, June 6, 2019. A probationary contract will be offered, leading to tenure.

Salary Range: Placement on the certificated salary schedule is dependent on education and years of employment in a public school district. There is no cap on the number of years of public school experience that may be counted towards salary placement. The salary range for a fully credentialed teacher in a full-time position is from $52,178 to $100,261 per year. An excellent benefits package is offered to employees who work 50% or more of a full-time position, with District contribution up to $15,024 per year.
