We are looking for a dynamic teacher to join our middle school team. This teacher will teach any of the following subjects: religion, social studies, English language arts and literature to grades six through eight. Candidates should be familiar with the following social studies concepts: 1. Ancient civilizations including: Mesopotamia, Egypt, Kush, Ancient Hebrews, Greece, India, China, Rome 2. Medieval and early modern periods in the following areas: Roman Empire, Islamic empires, China, Mali, Ghana, Japan, Europe, Mesoamerica 3. The Renaissance, Reformation, Scientific Revolution 4. United States history especially: the 13 colonies, Revolutionary War, US Constitution, Civil War, Reconstruction, Industrial Revolution Candidates should be familiar with the following English language arts concepts: 1. Narrative, expository, and argument style of writing 2. English grammar including: parts of speech, phrases, clauses 3. Usage topics including: agreement, capitalization, punctuation 4. Reading comprehension of both literary and informational texts Candidates should be familiar with the following religion concepts: 1. Hebrew and Christian scriptures 2. The teachings of Jesus revealed through Christian Scriptures 3. Church history Our faculty and staff provide our students with the skills needed to live peacefully in today’s society.
