We are looking for a dynamic teacher to join our middle school team. This teacher will teach any of the following subjects: religion, social studies, English language arts and literature to grades six through eight.
Candidates should be familiar with the following social studies concepts:
1. Ancient civilizations including: Mesopotamia, Egypt, Kush, Ancient
Hebrews, Greece, India, China, Rome
2. Medieval and early modern periods in the following areas: Roman Empire,
Islamic empires, China, Mali, Ghana, Japan, Europe, Mesoamerica
3. The Renaissance, Reformation, Scientific Revolution
4. United States history especially: the 13 colonies, Revolutionary War, US
Constitution, Civil War, Reconstruction, Industrial Revolution
Candidates should be familiar with the following English language arts concepts:
1. Narrative, expository, and argument style of writing
2. English grammar including: parts of speech, phrases, clauses
3. Usage topics including: agreement, capitalization, punctuation
4. Reading comprehension of both literary and informational texts
Candidates should be familiar with the following religion concepts:
1. Hebrew and Christian scriptures
2. The teachings of Jesus revealed through Christian Scriptures
3. Church history
