Requirements / Qualifications

Job Purpose Statement/s: Under general supervision of the Executive Director or designee, Charter Community School/ Home Study Academy/Extended Day, perform a variety of specialized confidential, secretarial, and technical work as may be required in the support of the Charter Community School/Home Study Academy/Extended Day Programs. The El Dorado County Office of Education is looking for a talented individual to join our office support team in the Charter College & Career Prep program in Placerville. The Charter College & Career Prep program serves between 125 and 150 at-risk students in grades 7-12, who are experiencing difficulty meeting behavioral, social, and academic standards. The Senior Secretary provides lead support to the principal and has daily interaction with the students. Our program utilizes Love and Logic, which focuses on modifying behavior by using positive reinforcement and building relationships. We value the uniqueness of our students and their individual goals, and provide an encouraging, high-quality learning environment where the students can excel. The goal of Charter College & Career Prep is to help prepare students for the real world of employment through hands-on training and the development of student leadership. A successful candidate for this position will foster the mission of preparing students for the world of college and career through creative and welcoming practices. Our program operates in a state-of-the-art facility equipped with cutting-edge instructional technology, including MakerSpace, Culinary Arts, Woodshop, and a Drone program.
