The Academy of Our Lady of Peace (OLP), a Catholic, college-preparatory school for girls in the CSJ tradition, located in San Diego, is currently seeking to hire a full-time Religious Studies Teacher & Campus Minister for the 2018-2019 school year, to begin onsite August 1, 2018. The classroom teacher both models and communicates the school mission, philosophy, and core values while modeling behavior that inspires excellence, helping students grow to become young women of heart, faith, and courage in the spirit of the Sisters of St. Joseph. OLP is a school of 750 students and a diverse educational community that strives to educate young women to the needs of society. As a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) school, OLP places a strong emphasis on 21st-century learning skills across the curriculum. The professional culture at OLP is committed to continuous improvement and lifelong learning. Students are passionate about being involved in the school community. Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters in Theology & Religious Studies Prefer 3+ years teaching Religious Studies at a high school level Prefer 3-5 years working in a leadership position in an educational environment. Background in Catholic faith formation, spiritual development, creating a mission-centered organizational focus. Experience with and demonstrates an understanding of Catholic education. The ability to passionately and effectively teach female high school students. A strong and sincere commitment to professional development both in pedagogy and content area. High standards and high expectations for students. Commitment to being a positive and contributing member of the professional community. Extraordinary communication and presentation skills. A proficiency in the use of technology. A desire to work in a highly collaborative environment. Application Process: Submit a cover letter, resume & three references.
