Requirements / Qualifications
Essential Job Functions: • Collaborating with staff in the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans • Working directly with students providing Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT) and Nationalistic Environmental Teaching (NET) • Collecting data on challenging behaviors and skill acquisition • Supporting teachers with managing challenging behaviors • Using evidence based practices to help students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder build their social skills. Requirements for Applying: The Speech Pathology Group (SPG), one of the most respected therapy practices in California, is hiring for an entry-level, full-time Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) position. The RBT is a front line, paraprofessional primarily responsible for the direct implementation of skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans, while under the close, ongoing supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The role of the RBT is to provide 1:1 direct services to student(s) with academic needs and behavioral challenges in the school setting. RBTs will also acquire behavior analytic skills related to the BACB Task List and may also collect data and conduct certain types of assessments (e.g., stimulus preference assessments).
Qualifications: • The ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with school district personnel, outside agencies, and parents • The capability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing • A minimum of one year’s experience working with children Requirements: • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, Speech-Language Pathology, or licensed SLP-A, or related field • Completion of 40 hours Registered Behavior Technician Training (may be provided by SPG, if needed) • Negative results of a TB test taken within the last 4 years • Successful passing of a criminal background check • RBT Certification preferred but not required • Minimum of 1-year experience working with children • Bilingual Spanish skills a plus!
